RIP Handsome Boy

Buster was a handsome boy who was a true gentleman, he was so loved by his family.

How do we say goodbye to our friend, protector, and constant companion? I do not believe we ever will. For now, we will just say rest easy, until we meet again. Our lives have been richer, happier, and certainly more blessed because we were blessed to share it with you our handsome boy.

You came to us by chance. We did not know what we were in for! Your history of an escape artis being a frequent flyer at the Kewanee Shelter. Being lovers of the breed, our paths crossed, and Buster you completed our family and settled in perfectly and your days of being an escape artis ended.

You trained us how to follow your lead with those little quirks. You trained us to go to bed at the same time every night (and you certainly let us know if we were late!). You trained us to never leave each other alone at night (we must all head to bed at the exact same time, or you would impatiently wait!).

How you loved to wait for your dad to get home from work and how your ears perked up, listening for any sound of movement to find your dad who strategically tried to sneak in dad never got away with it until you lost your hearing then it took you awhile to realize dad was somewhere in the house you knew though.

You would sit at the top of the stairs and stare out the back door waiting for dad to come home. You would not move until he got your “staircase Lovin” when dad arrived home.

You did not get much “people” food, but how you LOVED your crackers and chips your dad was quite the push over when dad would sneak you a few now and then.

How you would follow dad into the kitchen every time hoping you would score a treat. you would sit with him by his chair in anticipation. As soon as dad had his cracker and chips and seated in the chair…one bite for dad, one bite for you, one bite for dad, one bite for you… and so it would go until snack time was over.

There are so many memories that we will forever hold in our hearts. We will miss you terribly, Buster Boy Enjoy your wings! We love you! Run free with your brother Ollie…...Fly high our sweet handsome boy.
